Hi, I'm Victor 👋

Easygoing builder, Buddhist nerd, and dad who keeps turning ideas into little apps that (hopefully) make life more fun and more human.

I love creating tools that help people learn languages, chant with joy, and see life a bit more like a game—full of quests, upgrades, and hidden treasures.

Mission: build a world where “living beings enjoy themselves at ease” (众生所游乐), one tiny app and experiment at a time. This site (vcip.mrchang.com) is a subdomain of my brother’s main domain, mrchang.com.

About Me

I’m a Singapore-based engineer, maker, and dad. I spend a lot of my time building:

  • language learning tools (Chinese, English, Vietnamese) that mix OCR, TTS, and grammar explanations,
  • chanting and mindfulness apps that make spiritual practice playful, especially for kids,
  • computer-vision and robotics solutions in my professional work.

I’m not trying to become a “guru” or build a paywall around faith, knowledge, or creativity. Most of what I create, I want to share freely. Donations simply help me spend more time building things that empower others.

A few quiet principles I live by:

  • Empowerment first. The best “good” is helping someone unlock their own power.
  • Life as a game. Quests, levels, and experiments beat guilt and perfectionism.
  • Kind skepticism. Love logic, love spirituality, and let them argue nicely.

Also: I’m “bad at design” but keep shipping anyway. If something looks a bit ugly but strangely useful… it’s probably mine.

What I’m Building

  • Language & reading tools: apps that turn photos and screenshots into readable, explained text with TTS and grammar overlays—so kids and adults can explore languages with curiosity instead of fear.
  • Chanting & mindfulness experiments: creative ways to chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo with music, rhythm, and tracking— especially to help children enjoy it, not endure it.
  • Educational games: I love to create innovative games to help my kid learn subjects like english, math and chinese.

None of these are “finished”. They’re all evolving experiments — and your support lets me keep iterating, sharing, and keeping everything as accessible as possible.
